Relationship, Sex and Health Education at Burnopfield Primary School
All schools have a statutory duty to teach this curriculum from September 2020. We strongly believe that the introduction of age-appropriate elements of RSHE contributes to to the safeguarding and well-being of our children and young people. With this in mind, we have chosen to enhance elements of our current curriculum with immediate effect from September 2019.
At our school, our focus is on teaching the fundamental building blocks and characteristics of positive relationships with particular reference to friendships, family relationships and relationships with other peers and adults. Through these subjects we want to support all young people to be happy, healthy and safe. We want to equip them for adult life and to be able to make a positive contribution to society.
Our teacher responsible for RSHE in school is Mrs Ferris, our Pastoral Leader. If you have any queries or require any further information please do not hesitate to contact her.
