Meet the Year 1 Teachers
If you don’t know me already, I’m Miss Bingley and I am so excited because I get to be your teacher next year! Next year will be my 5th year teaching at Burnopfield Primary School. That makes me sound quite old considering some of you may not even be 5 years old yet! I have been a teacher in year 3, year 2 and now in year 1. Key stage 1 is definitely my favourite though! You may have seen me in the corridor as my classroom is right next door to Reception or you may have even spotted me in your classroom talking to Miss Farries before. Miss Farries is a good friend of mine and we often meet up and do things outside of school too. These are some pictures of when we went out for a walk quite recently!
You may have spotted a little doggy on those photographs. That’s my dog, Mila! She’s a miniature Jack Russell. I’m sure you will hear lots of stories about her when you’re in my class next year. I love taking her out on long adventures and finding new places to go walking. I love being outdoors – it’s great!! Miss Farries has told me lots of wonderful stories about you all and I’m so looking to forward to meeting you. I know moving classes and getting a new teacher can seem quite scary and you’ll probably feel a little bit nervous too, but I promise we will have an AMAZING time in year one! Our year together will be filled with lots and lots of fun and laughter… and learning of course!!
I look forward to seeing you all soon!
My name is Miss Oxnard and I am super excited because I get to be your Teacher when you come into Year 1! You will probably have seen me around school before and some of you might even have had a little chat with me before. Either way, I can’t wait to meet you all properly when you start Year 1!
Since we don’t know each other too well just yet, I will tell you a little bit about myself. I have been a teacher for 5 years and all of those years I have taught in Year 1 (it’s the best!) I am in charge of Art across the whole school because I really enjoy it! We do lots of great Art in Year 1 and you also get to learn about famous Artists – how cool! I also really love spending time outdoors; going on long walks, not so long runs and I especially love spending time at our Forest School! In Year 1 we spend some time together at Forest School and even have a fire with marshmallows (yum!) I love when the weather is hot and enjoy going to the beach for fish and chips and ice cream! I also love going on holiday abroad in the Summer with my family and my friends and making lots of fun memories! I have a really fluffy cat at home called Nala, she is a bit of a tinker! I also have 2 older sisters and 1 older brother. They all have children and so I have 7 nieces and nephews so far! I love spending time with them. We do lots of different things including visiting the farm, going swimming and riding our bikes!
I know you might be a little bit nervous about coming back to school and starting a new year with a brand new Teacher, but I promise I will do my very best to make sure you love every second! We have lots of fun in Year 1 and you learn loads too (win win!) Once again, I am so looking forward to meeting you all and making lots of lovely memories together. We will have a great year.
Lots of love,
Miss Oxnard xx
